You know that sinking feeling with you turn your ignition key and nothing happens? It's usually a sign that your battery is dead.
You can avoid a flat battery by:
- Making sure you turn your lights off
- Turn off lights in other places like foot-wells and boots that operate automatically when glove boxes and boots are opened
- Don't leave your key switched to the auxiliary position (eg to run the car radio) for too long
- For cars without keys, keep the proximity sensor well away from the vehicle
